Thanks to Mark Waters, who showed up on his bike and got my WiFi working tout de suite _ I'm back online with news of two events this weekend. On Saturday evening (19th May) there will be live music at the bar in Blanzay, which got off to a rocking start on Tuesday night, when it was reopened by new owners Gavin and Lesley. (I've never seen so many people packed into a bar in rural France). Entrance is free, with music from 21.00 onwards.
Also tomorrow, the 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May, animal charity The Hope Association is holding its giant annual book sale (plus bric a brac) at the Salles des Fetes Clussais La Pommeraie 79190, 10 am to 3 pm (D45 Sauze to Lezay road).
There are a lot of abandoned and badly treated dogs in the Poitou-Charentes, so please come along and support this event, while stocking up on reading material for summer and beyond.
I bagged myself some great books at the Hope Book Sale, something I look forward to twice a year!
