solstice

June 22, 2011

lantern.jpgTo the Mad Hatter's Kitchen on Tuesday night for a summer solstice party (and Charlotte's birthday.) A really lovely evening starting with the drive to Caunay - past fields of wheat, barley (looks like hairy wheat), maize and sunflowers (the first I've seen this year).

Then a barbecue, live music and dancing barefoot on the lawn, followed by Chinese lanterns lit and released into the midnight sky. They looked amazing as they drifted over the tree tops into the blue.

Dear Lyn,

I'm not sure who had the most fun: the dogs or the humans!
I'd love to see those photos as I was only keeping half an eye on what he was up to but I guessed he was responsible for leading the other dogs into the pond. But yes, a wonderful evening and a wonderful setting...
all best
Karen

Let me know how to pass them on to you and I'll do it. He really made me laugh, the others were twice as big but he really ruled them - Mr Popular in the dog world, they all wanted to be in his gang lol

Hi again Lyn

your comments really made me laugh. Yes, Biff is quite a charismatic little chap. I'm a member of his gang too, rather than the other way round!
Have sent you my email address re the pictures
best
Karen

I just sent you e mail regarding Mad Hatter's! Happy belated Birthday to Charlotte! She's been so nice in trying to accommodate my booking. I can only hope it happens next year.
