the devil wears prady

March 7, 2011

Tout%20Sweet%20cover.jpgI've just spent an entertaining half hour with google translator, trying to translate the cover quotes on the Polish copy of Tout Sweet - or Sama Slodycz as it is known in Poland.

The first attempt to translate this came up with 'Sam Sweet,' so I tried again and eventually got 'Sweetness Itself' which sounds more like it.

My favourite cover quote, by Polish actress Weronika Rosati, describes Tout Sweet as 'The Devil Wears Prada, and an angel living in a country house in south western France.’

And who knew that in Poland, Prada is known as Prady? I'm making a publicity visit there in June, for which I will make sure to be wearing my Prady shoes.

Wow! That is excellent news, particularly with the USA version. Congratulations.
PS. I hope the teeth aren't too painful

Wow! what fantastic news! I will mention to all my blogger friends from the US (who seem to live and die for anything French).

Thanks Vanessa, thanks Pierre. The root canal was a great success - no pain at all and hardly knew anything had been done thanks to the intravenous sedation. The not so good news is that I now have to go back for a second one.....aghaghahgh

Hehe, we say Prada as well in Polish :) It's just we have to change the end of the word in each declination (i think it's the appropriate word) :)) So if you ask me what's the brand of my shoes i can tell you "it's Prada" ("Prada") but in all the others declinations it's Prady, Pradę etc.... our gramar is very complicated :(
Btw, I've just bought your book. Poitou-Charentes is familiar to me - my boyfriend is french and living in "Mornac-sur-seudre" lovely village near Royan. I am a Polish girl. We met in Denmark while studying there.
I can't wait to start reading your book !! It's always nice to read about places, that you know.
Many greets et bisous :)
