I'm in transit, in London, wide awake at 2.30am, having returned from New York this morning. I stayed with my brother and his family and apart from playing princesses and a game called 'hiding stuff' with my little niece, one of the highlights of my trip was witnessing my sister-in-law's audacious approach to child psychology.
'Nathalie,' she said to my niece on Friday morning. 'I've told you already. If you don't stop misbehaving, you won't be going to ...THE DENTIST this afternoon.'

wouldn't have worked with my children - would only have made them worse!!!!!!!
