scramble

February 26, 2011

A mad scramble to make last minute travel arrangements this morning. I was planning to drive back tomorrow but due to an unexpected development with my car, I would have had to drive to Dieppe with an alarm ringing every fifteen seconds (long story; won't bore you, but Monsieur Raveau from the garage phoned early this morning to say that he wouldn't be able to fix the problem in time).

Eurostar was my first of call but its least expensive ticket for travel tomorrow was €197 one way. Haven't they heard about the economic crisis? (As Travis points out, there are always zillions of empty seats and this could be why.) So I am flying with BA from Bordeaux instead.

Biff meanwhile, has his bag packed and is off to enjoy a mini-break with this friend Glen at the Grande Galerie. (Watch your bacon rolls everybody!)
