I drop my friend Liam at the airport in Poitiers and return home to spend the evening trying on clothes for two book signings later this month. The first is at Christies bookshop, 17 Place du Marché, Gencay, 86160, 10-12am on Thursday, July 30th (also a foire day for anyone who wants to buy live game, plants, polyester pinafores or large pink knickers).
Then on Friday 31st July, I am hosting a launch party and book signing at La Grande Gallerie, 7 Rue de Temple, 86400, Civray (tel 05 49 87 73 02). Chilled pink bubbles and canapes will be served from 6.30pm-8pm and all blog readers who might be in the region on that date are warmly invited to join me. And nope, still haven't decided what to wear, other than my lucky red velvet Prada wedges.
Two years ago I hung up my high heels, put the Prada handbags into storage and left behind my fashionable West London life to renovate an old village house in rural France. Et voila. This blog is about what happened next....
