This morning, to the surprise of everyone in the village, a big sign appears in the window of the boulangerie, saying 'Reouverture Lundi.'

And it's not just the baker who is back, but also the Indian summer. The square is once again bathed in radiant autumn sunshine. My (former) Portuguese neighbour meanwhile, drops by unexpectedly at lunchtime to see me. Life is full of surprises at the moment.

Good news about the baker. But we are all waiting for updates on your "(former) Portuguese" neighbour....

I take it that this is the same lovely baker who closed down a few days ago. This is great. By the way I am pleased to read about all aspects of life in your town, not just about your love-life (as my previous comment might have suggested).

Aha, so the fabulous baker boy returns. Hurrah! So the ovens will be getting warmed up again. Speaking of getting warm, any news on the latin lover? Snigger.

Hi Pierre,
yes it's the same lovely baker who closed down only days ago (no, I'm not quite sure what's going on either) but everyone in the village is happy at the news. And thanks for continuing to read my blog - I'm flattered that you're interested in any of it, love-life or non !

Mimi x

I am indeed enjoying all aspects of your blog. I also had a good giggle at the story of the woman who couldn't find the controls for her cooker (in another publication, where I always look for you by-line).
