So the good news is that I can see again. The not-so-good news is that I had to spend an obscene amount of euros on emergency glasses at my local opticians on Friday, after leaving half my belongings behind in London. [Some things in rural France really are not cheap.] I was practically weeping as I handed over my credit card. I wouldn't have minded so much but they have enormous, blinging, diamanté sunflowers on the side [the choice was very limited.] Still, there is always Facebook to cheer oneself up. Feeling very low-energy this morning after my little transatlantic trip, it was strangely comforting to log onto the 'status updates' on Facebook and find that friends in the UK are variously 'caffeinated', 'jetlagged', 'f***** off' or - my favourite - 'discombobulated'.

ooh - thanks for the shout out... sorry to miss you in New York!! |
I LOVE the word 'discombobulated'....says it all. |
Am loving the sound of those glasses!I take it they are not Prada! |
Oh dear! £400 on a pair of glasses that you don't like. Think of all the flowers and plants you could have bought for your garden! |
So what does discombobulated mean? It's not in my dictionary. |
Sunflowers? Sounding wonderful! |
Not another Facebook addict?
