'So I've looked into it,' says The Man, on Friday evening. 'And it will cost €100.'
'What will?' I say, mystified.
'To get married in my village. I've asked Philippe, my mayor if he will do it.'
'But you haven't actually asked me to marry you.'
'I have. I've asked you twice. You've obviously forgotten.'
It's certainly not the most romantic marriage proposal I have ever received.
'He could probably even do it in November,' he persists.
'That seems a bit quick.'
'So Minx,' he says. 'I'm waiting for an answer. What's it going to be?'
